Client:
A well known Taiwanese Electronic Manufacturing Company, very reputable in the fields of hand held pocket dictionaries of all kinds

Location:
Taiwan

Objective:
The objective of this project was to create a new Arabic/English, English/Arabic hand held dictionary. Being the most well known in this field, INFO ARAB was approached in order to develop the entire software for the dictionary in addition to the normal software functions of an electronic agenda, like calendar, addresses and phone numbers, games… ISIS provided all components and a bit of regional “flavor” such as the Islamic prayer times in the calendar.

Challenges:
This project had to be developed using a Zilog computer chip.
Very limited storage and memory capacities in order to keep the price limitations of the product.
The product needed to be designed using this framework but also keeping optimum performance of the instrument.
To overcome the distance and communication problems that may arise when two technical teams are working thousands of kilometers apart.

Solutions:
Provided three versions of the developed pocket dictionary and launched them into the market. Each dictionary was equipped with different features and capabilities in order to provide a variety of models to meet the needs of each consumer in features and cost.
Continuous communication between the two technical teams and all involved in project. Four visits from Cairo to Taiwan and vise versa to affirm success of project.
Scope of project included manual editing, artwork design and final testing.
