Smartsourcing Off Shore Development Dedicated Team Licensing Systems Localization (ERP) Systems

Objective:
This project entailed the migrating of a traditional legacy system of computers from old technology to become web-based. ISIS’s role was to contribute in the development activities of this system using a Microsoft suite of products, e.g. Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL. Consideration was also made for the sophisticated requirements of integration with other technology vendors like People Soft and others.

Challenges:
For successful completion of the project, time differences and geographical distance needed to be overcome. Project was on a strict time constraint and limited budget, the ISIS team successfully overcame both constraints. Overcame dynamic continuous changes to the database throughout the project development lifecycle.

Scope of Work: ?
The project was handled using a technique called smartsourcing, with ISIS project head working in the USA and the rest of the development team based in Cairo. Constant communication streams were set up to overcome the geographical distances and time difference ?      Developed most of the data reporting that required smart coordination with the other development teams.

Technical Skills:
Microsoft development tools including Visual Basic 6.00, ASP, IIS, and MS-SQL 7.0

Duration and Staff:
The total project duration was 6 months for a team of 5 persons.
